Marie Seguy est une créatrice française vivant à Paris. Elle étudie l’architecture et obtient son diplôme DEFA, puis la mode à l’école Studio Berçot à Paris. Durant son activité, elle suit une formation en bijouterie à l’école Boulle, Nicolas Flamel. Elle poursuivra ses études à l’Ecole du Louvre à Paris, où elle étudie les civilisations anciennes en particulier l’Egyptologie et son écriture hiéroglyphique, les civilisations précolombiennes et l’art sacré antique. Elle est passionnée par l’Hindouisme, le Védanta et le yoga sous toutes ses formes, qu’elle pratique depuis de nombreuses années.
Marie a gagné ses éperons en tant que créatrice de mode à Hong Kong, où elle a travaillé comme acheteur pour des magasins de luxe et comme styliste personnelle de stars Chinoises. En tant que styliste photo, elle travaille pour divers magazines de mode internationaux. Elle devient styliste vêtements et aide à la création d’une nouvelle marque de prêt-à-porter à Hong-Kong, puis elle est à la tête d’une deuxième marque créée à Saigon. Marie Seguy décide de suivre sa propre intuition et sensibilité en créant sa marque de bijoux. Ses bijoux inspirés, raffinés et artistiques sont conceptualisés et fabriqués dans son atelier à Paris.
Quand Marie Seguy parle de ses bijoux, elle évoque ses voyages, la spiritualité des civilisations anciennes, le symbolisme, l’art primitif, l’archéologie. Ses créations ont leur originalité dans leur construction inattendue, laissant la combinaison inhabituelle de techniques artisanales anciennes, tribales et traditionnelles et de formes modernistes et architecturales.
En octobre 2007, Marie Seguy a remporté le prix d’Andam, parrainé par le Ministère de la culture française, LVMH et Yves Saint Laurent. Marie Seguy decided to follow her own intuition and sensibility by creating her own jewelry brand. Her inspired, refined and artistic jewelry is conceptualized and manufactured in her workshop in Paris.
When Marie Seguy talks about her jewelry, she evokes her travels, the spirituality of ancient civilizations, symbolism, primitive art, archeology. Her creations have their originality in their unexpected construction, leaving the unusual combination of ancient, tribal and traditional craft techniques and modernist and architectural forms.

« Ora Maât » est un collier pectoral crée en l’hommage à l’Egypte ancienne. Telle une cuirasse magique favorisant la bienveillance divine, ce pectoral est posé sur le Cœur, siège de l’âme et du souffle originel. Au centre, l’œil du Dieu Egyptien Râ symbolise sa sortie de l’œuf cosmique. Aveuglé par la lumière, des larmes coulèrent de ses yeux d’où naquirent les hommes. Le Dieu solaire nourrit de ses rayons lumineux, les hommes qui l’invoquent en érigeant les premières pyramides à degré.

« Ora Maat » is a pectoral necklace created as a tribute to ancient Egypt. Like a magical armor promoting divine benevolence, this pectoral is placed on the Heart, seat of the soul and the original breath. In the center, the eye of the Egyptian God Ra symbolizes his exit from the cosmic egg. Blinded by the light, tears flowed from his eyes from which men were born. The solar God nourishes with his luminous rays, the men who invoke him by erecting the first pyramids with degree.

DESCRIPTION ET SYMBOLISME DE L’OEUVRE.
DESCRIPTION AND SYMBOLISM OF THE WORK.
Le collier pectoral « Ora Maât » incarne la symbolique Egyptienne. Sa forme est définie par sa fonction. La fonction d’une cosmogonie étroitement liée à la nature et à la genèse du microcosme et macrocosme.
L’œil central est composé d’un iris conique et ajouré en bâtonnets. Les cônes à l’intérieur de l’œil, sont responsables de la vision des couleurs et de la vision diurne. Les bâtonnets permettent la vision périphérique et la vision nocturne. Ces bâtonnets se déploient telles les pétales d’une fleur de lotus à la lumière du soleil.
Au dessus de l’œil figure un double arc, composé d’une chaine plate tramée ou tissée. Symbolique de la Déesse Neith, représentée munie d’un arc et de flèches, affichant son caractère guerrier. Sa représentation hiéroglyphique est deux arcs entrecroisés, ou deux navettes de tisserand, car elle est aussi l’incarnation de la grande matrice de l’Univers, évoquée par la toile de lin tissée par les anciens. Elle est mère de tous les Dieux et Déesses et engendra le Dieu Râ. Cet arc symbolisant l’alliance entre le Ciel et la Terre se transforme en cornes soulignant les clavicules du porteur. En effet Neith pouvait être assimilée à Nout, la grande vache céleste qui supporte sur son dos la course du Dieu solaire Râ.
Le monde céleste nourrit le monde terrestre par sa lumière. « Fiat Lux », « que la lumière soit », par son verbe, Dieu ordonna par la lumière, la création du monde. Les rayons foudroyant matérialisés par le rythme des différents tubes juxtaposés en dessous de L’œil en sont l’expression.
La pyramide à degré « d’Ora Maât » est la représentation des hommes sur Terre. Les premières pyramides étaient des monuments à degré, comme des grandes marches que l’on monte pour atteindre le ciel et les astres, le soleil et les Dieux. J’ai fabriqué celle-ci avec une chaine tramée pour rappeler que les hommes sont tributaires de la grande matrice et de leur destinée. Au milieu de cette pyramide et dirigé vers la Terre, un diapason d’or, exprime toutes les notes de l’octave et la fréquence fondamentale. Celui-ci évoque la perfection de la nature et la seule science pure des nombres, atteint dans l’œuvre du sacré, tel les pyramides érigées à la mesure de l’Univers et du nombre d’or.

She is the mother of all gods and goddesses and begat the God Ra. This bow symbolizing the alliance between Heaven and Earth is transformed into horns underlining the clavicles of the wearer. Indeed Neith could be assimilated to Nut, the great celestial cow which supports on its back the race of the solar God Ra.
The celestial world nourishes the terrestrial world with its light. « Fiat Lux », « let there be light », by his verb, God ordered the creation of the world by light. The lightning rays materialized by the rhythm of the different tubes juxtaposed below the eye are the expression of this.
The step pyramid « of Ora Maat » is the representation of men on Earth. The first pyramids were monuments with steps, like great steps that one climbs to reach the sky and the stars, the sun and the Gods. I made this one with a woven chain to remind us that men are dependent on the great matrix and their destiny. In the middle of this pyramid and directed towards the Earth, a golden tuning fork, expresses all the notes of the octave and the fundamental frequency. This one evokes the perfection of nature and the only pure science of numbers, reached in the work of the sacred, such as the pyramids erected to the measure of the Universe and the golden number.
